Alan Dance`s historical novel Narrow Marsh attracted a number of favourable reviews on publication. One enthusiastic individual commented ;
"It works as a piece of fiction, but also it works as a piece of social history, telling us about the impact of the dawn of industrialisation and it`s effect on local people."
I know this, because I was the person who wrote that review ! ( The full review can be found online at Bookshelves and Brown Ale, dated 20 December 2009. For the record, yes I know it`s considered `bad form` to quote yourself. I`m not too worried about that, though.)
By a spooky co-incidence, we now have a signed second-hand copy of Mr Dance`s book on sale in our listings. You can find it at number 3453, or just search for it in the normal way using the `Buy Books` links provided.
We try to have a number of local/regional titles available at any given time, and it`s a pleasure to add this excellent book to the list. For what it`s worth, I can confirm that the signature is genuine (it`s hardly likely anyone would forge it) as I`ve seen the author`s handwriting before.
